Belief

Our beliefs shape our world.

For us this is true not only in the sense that personal beliefs influence our life experiences, it is true in a much deeper and more fundamental way. We believe that belief literally creates our existence at an atomic level, from the world we live in, to our bodies and our health, and our entire lives. Belief and consciousness are the creators of everything and the glue that holds us together.

And if we hold this to be true, it means that if we want to change the world, we have to change our beliefs.

So how do you change your beliefs? The uncomfortable reality is that you cannot change your belief system from your comfort zone. There is no momentum for change. If you are comfortable, it only affirms your beliefs and there are no seeds for change. Why would you change if everything is fine?  Being in a place of discomfort is where it starts.

Again, if this holds true, it means that the greater the discomfort, the greater the potential for change. A very low starting point allows the potential for huge change. It acts like a battery, the bigger the potential difference between the negative and positive poles, the larger the capacity for power grows. After all, is all matter in our universe not glued together by the cosmic dance of power between positive and negative polarity?

Another important factor is that, when it comes to forming new beliefs, emotion is more important than information. When you become emotionally uncomfortable you are ready for change - but if you aren’t then you cannot have change. It’s not the information - information alone cannot create that state of discomfort that drives the need to change. You have to feel and experience discomfort. Information might be a contributing factor, but in itself it is only information, nothing more. It is only when an emotional response is elicited that you can begin to change.

It is not information that gives you power. Information is just that - information. It can leave you cold or it can touch you deeply. It’s not the information that fuels your need to change, it is the fact that you were touched by it. Made uncomfortable to the point where you feel ‘I cannot go on like this!’. This is your power, this is where your journey starts.
