Human consciousness is not tied down, it is unlimited and one of the easiest ways to access it further is while you sleep.
We know that sleep is massively powerful for our physical and psychological well-being. But sleep is more than that, it is also a powerful contributor in our journey of growth.
At the start of our journey, much of our eight hour sleep period will be used for healing and recuperation. This is especially true for the first cycles of a nightly sleep. But as you progress, a smaller number of sleep cycles may be used for healing and you will find that some of your sleep cycles can be used to attain specific states. This time can be spent for other purposes like conscious creation, lucid dreaming or astral traveling.
The bottom line is that sleep does not perform a singular function in our lives, but rather that our relationship with sleep is dynamic and that it will continuously change over time as we develop and grow. You must become a conscious partner in your sleep relationship. This will enable you to use sleep to your advantage in becoming an optimal being.
How do you become a conscious partner in your sleep relationship? Cultivate a habit of awareness when preparing for your sleep. Create your state before bed, the state you want to be in while you sleep, and the state you want to wake up into. Have a calm mindset, positively focussed. Plan and set goals that you want to achieve during the night’s sleep. Include a gratitude practice in your preparation. Be specific - be still, take a moment and thank yourself for the valuable things you have done during the day and attained on your journey so far. You want to enter your sleep state in total relaxation.
As you progress with your sleep relationship, you will find that you may need less sleep than earlier on in your journey. You might wake up during the night. Use this time, it is a gift.
This twilight state between sleep and wakefulness is a very powerful creative window. In these moments before falling asleep and the moments before you awaken, focus on what you wish to manifest. Teach yourself to stay in this state. When you succeed, linger there and plan your day ahead and create what you want to happen. You will be amazed at the impact it has on our day and your goal achievement. The truth is that you can achieve more during this state than you can achieve during the day.
Connections happen while we sleep. During the day, we are too conscious and our emotions are too heavily involved in what is happening around us. Sleep is an opportunity for access to unique connections and unblocked information.
This is the start of a very rewarding journey of awareness. Be aware of your body and state of mind. If you feel tired, ask yourself why? Identify the cause, connect with your body and sleep with the appropriate intention. If you learn to understand your mapping, you will know the best time to sleep or nap and the best time to meditate. You will know when your body may want to take a break, or to reset. Listen to it, otherwise you are working out of sync with your system and in resistance. You will learn to recognise different states in your sleep cycle and use them, and you will be able to sleep with specific intent. Ultimately, your body is an antenna and with practice you will learn to use this to attract what you want.
